IBI
understands that data is the lifeline of your
organization. Accurate and efficient data capture
is critical for management processes and customer
support. IBI has developed highly specialized
data capture centers to meet these vital requirements.
Outsourcing your data requirements can significantly
reduce unnecessary hardware, software, technical
maintenance, staff recruitment and training expenditures.
Moreover, our data captures centers will accommodate
your business work load by satisfying time line
objectives. IBI approaches data conversion services
through the following discrete processes:

Data
Processing |
| |
Our
team of engineers and professional support
staff provide data processing solutions
for mission critical projects. Our team
utilizes custom and commercial software
to process raw and/or formatted data. Through
the capture, processing and conversion of
customer data in multi format presentations,
IBI provides unparalleled expertise in data
processing solutions. Our Data processing
services entail the collection, validation
and indexing of data for delivery to the
client in their required format. A representation
of our data processing model is as follows: |

Optical
Character Recognition (OCR) |
| |
OCR
is a classic electronic process where textual
material is extracted through optical scanning
technology to create metadata that can be
manipulated and converted into multiple
electronic formats. IBI uses OCR technology
to capture and process data from multi-variable
forms within the medical, legal, accounting,
scientific and business sectors. For example,
our customer provides us with a multi-page
medical reference which is electronically
scanned and processed by an OCR application,
where editable metadata is then converted
to an encrypted PDF file.

 |
Intelligent
Character Recognition (ICR) |
| |
ICR
is a translation and extraction of hand
printed and written characters through OCR
technology to create metadata that is analyzed
by sophisticated ICR software for eventual
conversion into multiple electronic formats.
Although ICR is distinguished from OCR in
conversion difficulties, IBI achieves the
highest rates of accuracy through intermediate
key entry and verification processes.

Form
Processing |
| |
Along
with expertise as a premier data processing
provider, IBI offers the related service
of high volume form processing. Within the
global business economy, corporations utilize
various and numerous data driven forms to
accomplish their daily operations. IBI can
process both tagged and untagged forms to
extract specified data into a desired file
format. Typically, IBI receives a printed
form from the customer with tagged data;
such as check boxes and fill-fields. Using
Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) technology,
the printed form is scanned, OMR tags are
read and associated data is extracted for
assembly in a custom database or file format.

Anesthesiology
Group Practice:
IBI provided a comprehensive document
scanning, forms scanning and data conversion
solution to a prominent anesthesiology group
practice located in PA. This medical group
had significant problems with the storage
and retrieval of their patient registration,
screening and admission forms. The majority
of these paper forms were stored off-site,
creating disruptive delays in answering
queries and retrieving complete patient
data in a timely manner. This created unnecessary
allocation of staff time and financial overhead.
IBI were called in to assess the current
situation and provide an alternative cost
effective and efficient solution. IBI’s
customized document scanning and data conversion
solution gave them immediate electronic
access to all documents. This provided expedient
access and retrieval of complete patient
data, allowing the group practice to distribute
queried patient information to appropriate
sources. In addition, IBI created an Oracle
database application to store data extracted
from the patient forms and documents. IBI’s
application provides the speed and flexibility
to an organization previously reliant upon
hard copy records. In excess of 45,000 forms
and documents were scanned, indexed and
converted using state of the art scanning
systems. This project reduced valuable financial
overhead while providing an electronic archival
and storage repository.
