In
today’s dynamic world, instant access to information
is the key to effective decision making. Industry
and government are accomplishing this through Automated
Mapping/Facilities Management (AM/FM) and Geographic
Information Systems (GIS).
IBI offers AM/FM/GIS services to the previously
mentioned sectors of the global economy. Our services
include but are not limited to telecommunications,
commercial gas works, electric utilities, transportation,
public works, natural resources, public health, state
and federal highway systems. Our professionals are
experts in merging the current technologies of digital
mapping from a wide variety of sources; including
satellite images, aerial photographs and existing
maps, to form proficient GIS databases. We are capable
of delivering services that non-GIS experts can access,
understand and utilize. During the project development
cycle — from initial planning to full implementation
— IBI’s GIS team adheres to strict quality
controls and parameters. IBI understands its customer
requirements by conducting comprehensive user business
and functional requirements analysis in advance preparation
to every project.
IBI’s team can implement spatial data processing,
data conversion, GIS database creation, analysis and
modeling. We also provide turnkey AM/FM/GIS solutions
with an implementation plan that results in the appropriate
system architecture and technology selection. Once
the system has been selected, our team coordinates,
assembles, and tests all necessary components for
compatibility and functionality. These include software,
hardware, digital maps, user interfaces, databases
and documentation. IBI’s completed product
can then be delivered and deployed in a rapid, efficient
manner.
| The
core areas in which IBI provides GIS services
are: |
 |
GIS
Database content, design specification and implementation. |
 |
Cross
platform migration of legacy geospatial data and
its maintenance. |
 |
Synchronization
with multiple, existing databases. |
 |
Data
conversion leading to cadastral database creation
from existing maps and spatial data involving
data acquisition, data capture, map scanning and
digitization. |

Telecom Service
Provider
A predominant telecommunication provider
has over 1200 Telecom Exchanges across
the contiguous United States. This Telco
company had documented their Exchange
network through multiple paper maps.
We took these aerial, conduit, underground
and buried cable maps and converted their
network and data attributes to electronic
database format. The resultant captured
data was linked to derived digital maps.
All the digital maps were then migrated
to the target GIS application.
